Start your journey in historic Haarlem and ride through the peaceful coastal dunes. Explore the iconic windmills of Zaanse Schans and the charming villages of Volendam and Edam. Continue through the easy Amsterdam countryside and enjoy views of canals, lakes and polders. End the day with a relaxed cycle back to Haarlem, completing a loop full of Dutch highlights.

Day 1 – Coast & National Park
25km/16mi
After the tourstart meeting in Haarlem, the route takes you through some of the Netherlands’ most beautiful coastal landscapes. The route leads past the seaside town of Zandvoort, where the fresh sea air and wide beaches invite a short break. From there, you enter National Park Zuid-Kennemerland, a protected dune area full of winding paths and scenic viewpoints. Along the way, you may encounter impressive wildlife such as Highland cattle, fallow deer, or even wild bison grazing freely in the dunes. The park’s mix of forest, open sand, and grassy plains makes every turn of the ride a surprise. Your journey ends in the elegant setting of Estate Duin & Kruidberg, a perfect reward after a day immersed in nature. -
Day 2 – Zaanse Schans & Windmills

Cycling to Zaandam takes you on a route full of Dutch contrasts. You’ll pedal through quiet countryside before reaching the world-famous Zaanse Schans, where historic windmills and wooden house museums bring the 18th century to life. The route includes a short ferry crossing over the Amsterdam–Rhine Canal. Along the way, you’ll pass fields, waterways, and small villages that showcase the charm of North Holland. Arriving in Zaandam, you’ll be welcomed by a green hotel, blending modern comfort with historical design. -
Day 3 – Waterways and Monnickendam

This day takes you through some of North Holland’s most authentic landscapes. Passing through wetlands, you’ll enjoy quiet paths surrounded by water, reeds, and grazing birds. The ride continues along the shores of the IJsselmeer, where Monnickendam invites you to pause and soak in their maritime charm. With traditional harbors, wooden facades, and cozy terraces, it’s a perfect glimpse of old Holland. Finally, you arrive in Edam, famous for its historic streets and world-renowned cheese. A gentle ride full of culture, nature, and Dutch traditions. -
Day 4 – Pensulina & Amsterdam North (optional extra day)

Cycling first to Volendam, you’ll pass through this lively fishing village known for its colorful traditional costumes and boats. From here, you take your bike on the ferry across the water to the unique Marken peninsula, where time seems to stand still between narrow lanes. The route continues through Amsterdam Noord, blending modern architecture with wide-open green spaces. A short ride along canals and city streets brings you into the creative Westerpark district. Your day ends at a stylish hotel, perfectly placed to relax and explore Amsterdam’s vibrant atmosphere without the huslte and bustle of the city center.EXTRA DAY: Add an extra night to your trip and take the time to explore Amsterdam. Day 5 – Parks to Haarlem (optional extra day)

The final stage leads you back towards Haarlem through a mix of urban charm and green landscapes. The route winds past Amsterdam’s traditional allotment gardens, where locals grow vegetables and flowers in colorful wooden sheds. Soon after, you cycle into the wide open spaces of Spaarnwoude Park, a peaceful stretch of meadows, forests, and waterways. Here, the quiet paths and fresh air make a perfect contrast to the bustle of the city. Following the scenic trails of Spaarnwoude, you gradually approach Haarlem. The tour comes full circle as you roll back into this historic city, ending your journey where it all began.EXTRA DAY: Each year during the month of April, the bulb fields around Leiden and Haarlem are in full bloom. So if you are doing this tour in April, we can include an extra loop from Haarlem, through the famous Dutch bulb fields. The route provides you with a dramatic and multicolored display of tulips, hyacinths and daffodils. This route also goes past the Keukenhof Spring Gardens. The Keukenhof is the world’s largest flower and tulip park and there are many species and hybrids on display, along with every color you can think of!

We can arrange extra nights in the Netherlands before or after your bike tour. Our office is located right in the heart of Haarlem – a charming, historic city that offers all the character of Amsterdam but with a more relaxed, local atmosphere. Our office is within walking distance of the train station and just across the stop for the 300 Airport Express bus to Schiphol, making it the perfect starting point for your adventures. E-bike
Our e-bikes are battery powered recreational bikes with a comfortable upright riding position. The small motor will assist you only when you are pedaling which makes cycling super easy. If you prefer a little extra support, the e-bike is a good alternative for the standard touring bike.

›› We handpick all of our accommodations and pay special attention to a central location, authenticity, atmosphere and cleanliness and we avoid business hotels which are located along highways or in industrial areas. All of our hotels offer a private bathroom (ensuite), a good breakfast and even the tourist tax is included.
Comfort – 3 star hotels
Good hotels located in the historic town center. Mid size or larger room with private bathroom. Hotels with receptionist. Wireless internet. All rooms have TV and telephone. Mostly buffet breakfast.
Premium – 3-4 star hotels
Unique boutique style hotels located in the historic town center. Rooms with private bathroom. Hotels with receptionist. Wireless internet. All rooms have TV and telephone. Breakfast with special and/or local delights.
Breakfast is included in each overnight arrangement during your tour. In your route booklet you find our recommendations for lunch and dinner. There is a wide variety of restaurants and lunch rooms in the Netherlands. You can easily find a nearby restaurant wherever you are, and surprise yourself with one of the many Dutch culinary wonders. The staff at your hotel will be happy to advise you on the best place to have a meal.
Federal sales tax for the accommodation at 9% is included in the tour price. In some places there is also another kind of tax called Toeristenbelasting (Tourist or City Tax). The rate differs from one municipality to another. Sometimes Tourist Tax is charged at a fixed amount (Euro 2-4 per person, per night) and sometimes as a percentage of the overnight costs (3-12%). The Tourist Tax is incorporated in our accommodation bookings (and the tour price).

Luggage transfers
Option 1 – Daily transfer service
Your luggage is transferred by van. We pick up your luggage after 09.45 (9.45 AM) and it arrives at your next destination before 16.00 (4 PM). All guided tours and road bike tours include luggage transfers. For recreational tours luggage transfers are an option.With this option we provide you with a small pannier (recreational bike) or a small backpack (road bike) for storing your daily bits and pieces.
Option 2 – In panniers
You carry your luggage in panniers, which are attached to the rear rack of your bicycle. Your bike has two panniers, each carrying approximately 20 liters / 44 lbs. Luggage that you do not want to bring along on your bike tour can be safely left behind at the start of the tour.>> Road bike tours
Other than our recreational bikes, our lightweight road bikes are not equipped with racks and therefore cannot take panniers. For this reason luggage transfers are included in all road bike tours. For these tours we provide you with a cyclist’s backpack, to carry your daily bits and pieces. -

Terms and conditions
Group discounts: We offer a group discount which goes up with the number of participants in a booking. The discounts are indicated at each tour.
Payment: Shortly after booking, you will receive our invoice by email, which shows the tour items, prices and the payment options. The initial payment (deposit) is 10% of the tour price, or a minimum of 200 if this is lower. The balance of the amount due for the tour should be paid 90 days before the tour starts. Tours that are booked within 90 days before the tour starts are charged in full. Tour payments can be made bank-to-bank or by credit card. Credit card payments are processed on a secure webpage.
Cancellation fee:• 60 or more days before the tour begins: 10% of the total tour sum
• 14 to 60 days before the tour begins: 50% of the total tour sum
• 0 to 14 days before the tour begins: 100% of the total tour sum
• During the tour: No refund.
Further information can be found in Article 5 of our General Conditions.Equipment insurance: Bicycle insurance, covering damage and theft can be taken out at the tour start. Premiums are:
• Touring bicycle – €2.50 per day, with a minimum of €15
• Road bicycle – €3.50 per day, with a minimum of €20
• E-bike & other bicycles – €4.50 per day, with a minimum of €30
