History of the many and beautifull canals in the Netherlands

Canals are not just a feature of Dutch cities — they are an integral part, shaping the landscape and giving each city its own unique character.

For over a thousand years, the Dutch have been constructing canals for purposes such as transportation, irrigation, and drainage. These waterways have played a key role in the country’s development.
